Remarks & Notes
A pair of Union Pacific CA-3 class cabooses, 25033 and 25031, rust away at the Los Angeles Junction Railway's facility in Vernon, California. These two cars were built in mid-1942, and unfortunately the owner has quit paying rent on the track they sit upon, and so they may be scrapped by the end of 2013. Photographed on railroad property with permission and while wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE).

Look around you, it's everywhere, some of us hate it some of us love it, some of us paint it and others paint over it you know what it is: graffiti.

Have you ever watched cabooses, enjoyed their uniqueness, wondered about the men inside, or the jobs they do? Once an everyday sight on the rails, they have decreased in numbers, yet they are a very important part of railroad history.

Cabooses have always been one of my favorite pieces of railroad equipment. This is just a collection of some of the caboose shots on the site.
