The Black River Railroad Historical Trust. At the end of the daylight portion of the Lerro Productions, Great Western 60 Charter, the volunteer crewmembers from the Black River Railroad Historical Trust took a moment to pose with their freshly restored, 1937 Alco Consolidation. Having traveled around the country a fair bit, I am constantly amazed at how many of the preservation steam railroads are operated by volunteers....folks who take care of these treasures, not for money, but because they care about them and appreciate their historic value. In the case of #60, it's taken them a dozen years of hard work and determination, but it has all paid off. The sights, sounds and smells of steam are once again running the rails between Ringoes and Flemington.
