The track and tie renewal project on the Northeast Corridor has progressed north, with track 4 now out of service between COUNTY and LINCOLN Interlockings. Bridge plates are currently being used at New Brunswick, Edison and Metuchen stations during rush hour to facilitate passenger loading and unloading across track 4. NJ Transit enacted a schedule change as a result of this work, and there are delays during peak hours. An afternoon westbound slows to a stop at Edison on track 3, and precision is needed to ensure that the doors align with the bridge plates.
