| one of Santa Fe's ten GP40X units lead the "baby" steel slab train across the SP's Wilminton Branch at West Thenard automatic interlocking in Wilmington, CA. At the time Santa Fe ran a seventy four car steel slab train from the port of Los Angeles six days a week to the Calfornia Steel Industries plant in Fontana, CA and occasionally enough steel slabs were imported that a second "baby" train of thirty two cars were run from a loading area in the Port of Long Beach. |
