Conrail OI-82 makes a Sunday afternoon appearance at Edison, bringing 42 cars from Oak Island to Metuchen Yard via Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. This train would usually have diverted off the NEC at LINCOLN Interlocking three miles to the north. Due to ongoing track issues on the east leg of the wye at Metuchen, this day's train has run west to Edison on track 2 and, after waiting for an eastbound NJT train to clear, will shove from track 2 across track 1 and onto the the 0 track at Metuchen. Aside from a weekday local, this is the only other regular freight that would appear on this portion of the NEC in New Jersey. It is fitting that a pair of former Conrail units are in the lead.
