Remarks & Notes
As late winter snow squalls leave a fresh layer of dry powder in the bottom of the Gorge at Quinnimont, an assortment of power idles east of the yard office and former sight of C&O's QN Cabin. While the interlocking today is still protected by a unique arrangement of C&O cantilever signals, the tower was removed from service and demolished decades ago. Upcoming signal suspension projects to the west have placed this interlocking on the hit list for late 2013 or early 2014. The C&O and its unique identity through West Virginia are in jeopardy.
