Remarks & Notes 
Amtrak’s “Phase III Heritage” No. 145 is on the point of the eastbound California Zephyr on the afternoon of June 22, 2011. Passing through Tunnel 1, the train is about to cross Coal Creek Canyon, and head to Clay and Rocky on the decent off the Front Range. Denver Union Station is still 23-rail-miles ahead, and the north metro area of Denver is far below in the background.
