It seems like a quarter of the NS heritage fleet is on the BNSF system these days thanks to runthrough oil trains to/from the Bakken oil fields in North Dakota but occasionally one wanders off and finds its way to other places around the country. Witness this Birmingham, AL to Kansas City, KS vehicle train (with a total of 9 autoracks with a fill of manifest freight behind them) running down the connection from the Ft. Scott Subdivision to the Emporia Subdivision in Olathe, KS, just outside of Kansas City.
