will have 5 minutes to load and unload passengers and
baggage and take on water before its 4:35 P.M. departure for Denver from the Santa Fe station. Southbound trains used the D&RGW station to the east.
No. 1701 is noteworthy in that it is one of three out
of a class of fourteen which served the railroad until 1956 whereas the last of the newer more powerful 1800
class was retired two years earlier.
