While sheep graze in a nearby meadow, Amtrak's California Zephyr train No. 5 climbs west approaching Soldier Summit. My dad was with me on this railfan excursion and was sure that Amtrak and the Rio Grande added the D&RGW 5412 to the train just for him on Father's Day.
