A southbound Kansas City Southern freight splits the town of El Campo, Texas, in half right before sunset on March 12, 2013. Located on KCS’s new Rosenberg Subdivision connecting Rosenberg and Victoria, this line rose from the ashes to form part of the route to Mexico, rebuilt from a portion of an abandoned, former Southern Pacific branch known as the “Macaroni Line.”
