Remarks & Notes |
Pennsylvania Power and Light Company #4094-D is an 0-8-0 "Fireless" steam engine built in 1939 by Heisler. Fireless engines were designed for customers needing an engine used in the presence of flammable material or for it's cleanliness. The engine has no ignition source nor polluting emissions. It's basically a reservoir charged with superheated water under pressure from a stationary boiler which is recharged as necessary. |
