Norfolk Southern 64A, a taconite train, has two very special locomotives on point today. In fact, they are the only kind like them. NS 1073, the Penn Central heritage unit leads, while NS 8025, the Monongahela heritage unit, trails. The signals were installed by the Pennsylvania Railroad and will be taken down soon, due to the Pittsburgh Line going all cab signals. This is not my favorite photo, but it will always hold a special place in my heart, due to it being my first photo that was published in a magazine.
