Remarks & Notes
After a day's work, the crew off of NS 433, empty coal hoppers for Shay Mine, makes the long walk to the crew van after tying down their train. Though the day was normal for them, the train was anything but average as it consisted of two of NS' heritage units; NS 8100 (Nickel Plate Road) and NS 8105 (Interstate). The Interstate unit led the train north, but the crew ran around the train to access the spur to the mine. As a result, the NKP unit was in perfect light for photos.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
