Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific’s MDVRO freight between Denver’s North Yard and Salt Lake City’s Roper Yard passes over Blue Mountain Drive west of Clay, Colorado, on September 23, 1999. Four EMD’s from the two predecessors of this scenic route power the train. Rio Grande SD40T-2 No. 5384 leads three speed-lettered Southern Pacific locomotives; SD40M-2 No. 8641, GP40R No. 7965 and SD40T-2 No. 8496.
