| Triple seven pulls through the yard at Trout Lake with 807 and 133 cars on train 912. Every summer even as far north as Upper Michigan we would get periods of hot weather and the proximity of the Great Lakes would send the humidity soaring. This was one of those days where you could literally sweat standing still. The big u-boat trailing the SD was not responding well to the heat and would need a drink from the garden hose at the depot before tackling the last lap into Sault Ste. Marie. The Soo's engineers problems with the U-boats wouldn't last much longer as they were parked for good during late 1979/early 1980. |
