Remarks & Notes
"Made in RSA" The outer panels for the GE Radial Trucks on this Canadian Pacific AC4400CW are forged in the Republic of South Africa. Radial-steering trucks allow the wheels of a truck to bend around a curve. Compared to the regular high adhesion trucks that you find on C44-9W's and ES44DC/AC's these radial trucks reduce wear on the rails as they tackle curves. Hi-Ad trucks have fixed axles, and as they travel around a curve, the outer wheel tries to straighten the curve, creating wear on the rails. EMD has a nice page explaining the radial truck in further detail here: EMD Radial Trucks

Do you ever get the feeling as a model railroader, that you just might be creating something not "prototypical?" Same here.
Engine Details

Generally speaking, shots where less than a full engine is shown. But I want to feature details, not half engines or full cabs, and definitely not full nose shots. Just shots where someone has zoomed in with purpose.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
