Coal trains are a hot button political issue in the Northwest right now. There is an effort to develop an export terminal to send Powder River coal to China near Bellingham, Washington. Some say that there will be 10+ more trains a day traveling through the Spokane Funnel. I can imagine what side of the issue most of us would stand!
