Snow has already fallen at the top of Mullan Pass when a westbound BNSF manifest freight with a pair of Montana Rail Link SD45s as point helpers exited Montana Rail Link's Mullan Tunnel. Before the tunnel was rehabilitated, westbound trains would often send up an impressive plume of smoke as they exited the tunnel.
