Remarks & Notes

A westbound Trona Railway train passes Oxy Yard and approaches Pinnacles, California, on March 15, 2004. The train is powered by two former Union Pacific SD40-2s and four former Santa Fe SD45-2s (now classed SD40-2s), and soon, the grade will steepen for the climb to the UP interchange at Searles. Trona and the huge soda ash production complex can be seen in the distance.
