Remarks & Notes
Brand new CP GP20C-ECO No. 2214 emerges from the tree tunnel at Hansen Road in Edina. Scenes like this are typical of the scenery found along Canadian Pacific's 18-mile MN&S Spur. The rails were originally put down in 1908 by an interurban road, the Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester and Dubuque Electric Traction Company, better known as the "Dan Patch Line." After bankrupcy, the Dan Patch evolved into the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway, a successful short line that operated independently until being acquired by the Soo Line in 1982.
