| The bright red nose of Soo 4407 brings some color to a dreary spring day at Negaunee. This 15 car westbound had struggled up Marquette hill on the wet rail and then had been held at this signal for an eastbound CNW caboose hop with three C628's out of Ishpeming. The CNW job has now passed and the Soo has the light and is proceeding to Ishpeming. This CNW/LS&I/Soo joint trackage was a busy stretch of track when the mines to the west were still operating but by the time of this photo business had tapered off and meets weren't all that common. |
