As with other railroads, BNSF Railway has downgraded SD40-2s, once the mainstay of their mainline freights, to yard duties. Late in the day on Saturday, December 15th, 2012, from a dutch door on BNSF's California Division Christmas Train (O-SBDSBD2-15, led by ES44C4 7076) as it wends its way to track 659 in San Bernardino's B-Yard, we see SD40-2 1890 (ex-BNSF 6800, nee-ATSF 5116) on an adjacent track.
