NS auto train 145, rerouted due to a derailment, slams by NS coal train 431 at Granite City, IL. 145 was only 8 cars long tonight, and I almost got both the head end and EOT in the same exposure. The PC heritage unit, NS 1073, is trailing the northbound coal, and the NKP heritage unit is working on the other end as a DPU. The Penn Central had just led the 1017 light back to the train after assisting another coal train up north.
