A line-up of derelict steam locomotives awaiting scrapping at the end of the 1960's? It may look that way, but no! Ex-Victorian Railways locos K160, D3 646, K157 and D3 619 rest around the turntable at the Victorian Goldfields Railway's depot at Maldon, in central Victoria. K160 is actually operational, just in for a period of much needed maintenance. It is seen here missing the fireman's side smoke deflector and air compressor. The other three locos are stored as possible future restoration projects. The only obvious thing in the image giving away the modern era is the asbestos warning stuck to K157's smoke box door!
