Remarks & Notes
Amtrak has taken lease of two complete VIA Rail Stainless Steel train sets - 5 coach/1 Park Car each - and moved them from Montreal to Albany on Sunday, November 18, behind Amtrak P40 822 and P42 43. With rapidly fading light, the 886-18 heads south along Lake Champlain at Port Kent, NY.

The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
