Remarks & Notes
On Saturday, November 10, New England Central's infrequent 'Key Train' - usually hauling haz mat cars that aren't moved in regular freight between St. Albans and Willimantic, Connecticut - made a daylight run through the lower White River and Connecticut River Valleys. NECR GP38 3855 was decked out with various flags, including the US and POW-MIA on the cab and the Vermont state on the long hood rear, that were placed their by proud engineer Joe D. The train is seen crossing the Connecticut River from Windsor, VT into Cornish, NH with the famous Cornish covered bridge over the Conn River visible beneath the railroad bridge. This shot is with permission from the landowner.
