Remarks & Notes

On December 16, 1963, Santa Fe Train No. 2, the eastbound SAN FRANCISCO CHIEF struck a cattle truck just west of Clovis, New Mexico, derailing five F-units and 10 cars. Two days later, on a cloudy frosty day, the Clovis and Belen derricks are busy recovering the diesel units.
