| Fort Wayne to Elkhart freight train NS 365 heads out of Fort Wayne at Runnion interlocking with an ex Conrail SD60M leader.
Runnion is no longer a significant junction like it was over a decade ago. No longer does the old GR&I Railroad cross over with a diamond just west of here. The tracks were removed from Runnion to Junction in the mid 1990's, with now just an interlocking with the NS Chicago District. Also the NS New Castle District used to connect here with the NS Chicago District at this same spot in photo. It now connects with the old mainline Pennsy at Junction with track removal in 1999 between Runnion and Junction. |
