Remarks & Notes
Foliage is starting to turn in the Green Mountains of Vermont and Amtrak has brought some color of its own in the form of P42 Phase I Commemorative unit #156. The southbound Vermonter is seen approaching the Waterbury depot on the NECR Roxbury Subdivision on September 27, 2012.

The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
