Remarks & Notes
With peak foliage under a week away in Vermont, the southbound Vermonter train is sports some colors in the form of Phase I P42 #156. The train has crested Roxbury Summit and is on the downhill side as it passes a late 1700's/early 1800's family cemetery and newer homestead in the background. This area was completely washed out in the 2011 Hurricane Irene flooding.

The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
