| Southbound steam trains were regularly banked up the Loodsberg Pass. A helper engine was stationed at Jagpoort, a station and watering point. The helper would be detached at the summit and would return to Jagpoort to await the next train. In this picture the helper enging was Class 19D No 3324. |
