| Loads of taconite rock head down from the Babbitt mine to the plant in Silver Bay located some 47 miles away on the shore of Lake Superior. It's about a two hour trip one way hauling the approx. 156 cars of rock and upon arrival in Silver Bay the plant crew there has a string of empties dumped and waiting so the train crew can turn and burn back up to the mine where a mine crew is loading more rock to keep the cycle turning. |
