GLC conductor Justin Ellis attaches the EOT to the rear of his train. Under operating rules, this device must be in place if operations will occur within one hour before sunset and one hour after sunrise to help prevent accidents. This also helps the crews check their trainline pressure and ensure their cars are still on the train and that there has not been an accidental or intentional separation of the train from the locomotive. Photo taken on railroad property with explicit permission granted from railroad personnel.
