Passing a lake at Burlington, Wisconsin, Soo Line wooden caboose 99062 bobbles on the rear of a freight with empty ore jennies and numerous 40-ft. box cars early in the morning on Aug. 13, 1964. The train originated at Schiller Park in Chicago and has 83 miles to go to Fond du Lac.
Have you ever watched cabooses, enjoyed their uniqueness, wondered about the men inside, or the jobs they do? Once an everyday sight on the rails, they have decreased in numbers, yet they are a very important part of railroad history.
