| A little worse for wear is Alto Tower in downtown Altoona. After closing at the end of June the tower stands silently watching the goings on around it. The removal of the PRR signals and a break in by thieves have already occurred. I brought my 10 year old son who like me is seeing this for the first time. Hopefully, like us, future generations will get to see this scene as it stands now with the preservation of the tower. |
