With a five pack of EMD geeps for power, a hot Rio Grande manifest heads west on the approach to 7440 ft. Soldier Summit. Note the single main track, something the Rio Grande wisely corrected in 1983 by reinstalling the second main, dismantled by the D&RGW in the 1960s.
