Remarks & Notes
D&RGW Switch Caboose 01393 awaits a call to duty at Rio Grande's Roper Yard in Salt Lake City. The heritage of this caboose is showing through the black paint, 'Denver & Salt Lake'. The D&SL merged with the Denver & Rio Grande Western in March of 1947. The 01393 was built by the Denver & Salt Lake Railway as the 10062 in 1937.

Have you ever watched cabooses, enjoyed their uniqueness, wondered about the men inside, or the jobs they do? Once an everyday sight on the rails, they have decreased in numbers, yet they are a very important part of railroad history.
Prototype for everything . . .
