Remarks & Notes
SP 335 crests Toponas Summit, formerly a helper district on the D&RGW's Craig Branch. Remanence of the wye for Phippsburg, CO based steam helpers is still visible. Flanked by the Flat Tops to the south, lonely Toponas, CO marks the transition between the Yampa River Basin and the Colorado River basin. The train will now start the long descent to the Colorado River at Bond, CO. And how about SP 335, still moving Colorado coal in its original number as its been doing now for 17 years.
