Remarks & Notes |
Venerable SP SW1500 No. 2689 sits in the Roseville Shops awaiting repairs. In the last half of the 1980s, SP began removing all oscillating Gyralites from its locomotives. The reason? The FRA had passed a rule that bad ordered a locomotive if ANY of its mechanical moving parts weren't working, and this included oscillating headlights. Thus the empty spots on 2689's "face" where Gyralites used to be. |
