A hazy May day in 1986 at CNW's Oelwein Shop found a large amount of units scattered around the shop building and the yard. This Ex RDG/CR SD45 seemed to have an identity crisis, wearing its CR 6100 number along with CNW 6950 and 6558. Looking through CNW rosters reveal it was bought from CR in October of 1982 and renumbered CNW 6950. It was then renumbered CNW 6558 on April 14, 1983. In any case I don't think it ever operated as a CNW unit and it was retired on August 27, 1986, after probably spending its entire time on CNW getting moved around Oelwein!
