Cumberland, MD 8/9/2008 - On its debut run returned to WM colors, Western Maryland GP-9 number 25 is on home rails once again as conductor Richard Markle lines the crossovers at the WM's Cumberland station. The GP-9 was the first of 20 in its class that the WM owned. It was transferred to the Chessie System as WM 6400, and then sent to Georgia by CSX in the late 1980s. Purchased and brought "home" by the Georges Creek Railway in Luke, MD, it was restored to its original colors by owner Gerald Altizer and his crew of Western Maryland fans.
