Remarks & Notes
CP had for the longest time assigned yard goats 7099 and 8171 to Sault Ste. Marie. They spent most of there time working heavy loads of steel out of Algoma Steel and making transfer runs with long strings on COFC and forest products to and from Sault Ste. Marie, Mi. It was tough demanding work and as the two regularly assigned units aged, it became more commonplace in the early 80's to find different units assigned to Soo yard. One of the regulars must be ailing as the 7107 and 7089 have made an appearance in Sault Ste. Marie. It became more likely to find pairs of switchers as the 80's progressed and the loads became heavier.
