On a late summer evening, NKCR #7427 is in charge of a SD45 / GP30 / GP50 trio on the westbound transload train. The train consists of corn that is loaded & shipped by rail from a handful of terminals along this 220-mile former CBQ secondary route, eventually transloaded to trucks on the outskirts of Sterling, CO. At the time this photo was taken, this train was the only through movement on the Holdrege Sub, running about twice each week.
