| the wheel that started it all… Cast less than a mile away from the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum, this wheel ‘with a pedigree’ as the slogan for Abex used to say still calls Calera home after it was cast here over 40 years ago. A living example of the motto “Cast to Last”, this wheel is a reminder of the wheel plant that began operating at this small railroad town in 1954 and part of the reason of why I do what I do.
