While the setting sun casts a rosy glow on the San Pitch Mountains, a Union Pacific officers special glides east approaching the farming community of Nephi, Utah. The sleek 8 car passenger train spent the day along the Caliente, Lynndyl, and Provo Subdivisions between Las Vegas, NV and Salt Lake City, UT. The Interstate 15 freeway, exits, and truck stop had yet to be built when this view was captured on Kodachrome 64 slide film in 1979.
