There is not much daylight in Michigan's Upper Peninsula from mid November to mid January, The sun settles low to the south and shadows are really long, if you can find a sunny day. Things were just starting to improve as far as light goes when I shot this westbound with 82 cars about 3 miles from the nearest grade crossing. Power on this chilly day was 744, 709, 4446 and they were working hard as they leaned into the curves and grade west of Trout Lake. It was a long snowshoe hike back home and a hot chocolate was definitely in order after this one.
