Remarks & Notes
A gloomy January morning in 1987 finds Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr slowing to make its regular station stop at Provo while the D&RGW passenger station is being dismantled. The 75 year old structure was taken down over a three month period by a gentleman who purchased it outright and hoped to resell anything of value. Eventually the stacked and palletized brick and roof tile were moved off site so that a small, unheated glass transit shelter could be built in the Rio Grande depot's place. Progress? Hmmm.
