Remarks & Notes |
A Rio Grande GP40-2 leads Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr near Sutro at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. D&RGW GP40-2s were a common sight leading trains #5 and #6 during the summer months in the mid 1980s. Private observation car 'North Star' was coupled to the end of this particular train, requiring additional horsepower on the run from Salt Lake City to Denver. |
