Offering a unique and beautiful perspective of the New River Gorge, Watauga Valley Chapter members take in the breathtaking sights as the westbound New River Train leans into the bend, east of Kanawha Falls. We're right on time, and while premium guests enjoy a dinner of Prime Rib, potatoes, and greenbeans, just two passenger cars west of us, car hosts and riders observe our westbound trek through some of the most remote areas of Appalachia. The New River Train serves as the longest passenger excursion train in the United States and the only operating excursion train on CSX rails.
